Lifestyle of Jesus - Jesus emphasizing doctrine
John 7
Deuteronomy 31:19-22
2 Kings 22:10-13
Summary:
In this episode we cover the 7th chapter of John, some of the context and mostly the statements of Jesus regarding himself as having good doctrine. He goes on to stress the doctrine surrounding the Sabbath day. We go into a review of why good doctrine (teaching) is important and the role of education in a believers life. Also a brief tangent into the connection between music and education. We then finish up the chapter in John describing Jesus as having a short lifespan and then afterwards sending the Holy Ghost.

Lifestyle of Jesus - Jesus as food
John 6:28-29, 35, 37-38, 40, 44, 51, 57, 68-70
Judges 13:1-6
Summary:
In this episode we cover the miracle recorded in the 6th chapter of John and the relationship of food to spirituality. Jesus calls himself here the "Bread of life". We go over the principle that our diet determines our strength as Christians. It was more clearly stated in Hebrews saying that babies need milk and can't handle the strong meats, but as we grow in strength, we can absorb nutrition from seemingly more difficult circumstances.

John 5
2 Kings 22:1-2
Lifestyle of Jesus - Jesus at work
Summary:
In this episode we see Jesus in Jerusalem beginning to take a more aggressive stance against the Jewish Elite. He describes himself as doing the work he sees his father doing. We cover how we cannot do what we don't see, but contrast that with the principle of seeing by faith. We finish with Jesus receiving his witness and credentials for what he says and does from the father and how the Jewish elite wouldn't receive it anyway because they missed Moses who God first sent.

Lifestyle of Jesus - I am the Christ
John 4:9-14,20-23,25-26,31-32
Exodus 3:11-15
Summary:
In this episode we find our first unofficial "I am" statement from Jesus. Unofficial because he squeezes a descriptor between the "I" and the "am". Nevertheless, in this episode Jesus describes himself as the Christ (or Messiah). We trace the I am statements back to Moses' encounter with Jesus and why it is necessary for us to take the description of God that we get from him at first and build on it later.

Lifestyle of Jesus - Son of man
John 3:13-18
Joshua 7:1-12,18-21
Summary:
I this episode we cover the description Jesus gives to himself as being the "Son of man". And then we go on to the mission statement he has in his character that he didn't come to condemn the world, rather he came to offer salvation. So outside of the temple cleansing episode, we don't see a violent Jesus.
